We’ve carefully designed a starter playlist that both you and your students will love. The selected routines are not overly complex so that your learning curve will be shorter and your students will feel confident and not discouraged. This playlist encompasses all aspects of your SHiNE™ Training. We have dancey routines, toning routines, playful routines and athletic routines. We want you to become familiar with the whole playlist but focus on the Warm-Up ‘Blow’ and two routines ‘Tip Toe’ and ‘Already All Ready’ from front-to-back and sideways. Learn these 3 so well that you not only know the moves but you can cue and add your personality. For those of you getting certified as a SHiNE Instructor™ you will need to submit a video of you leading the Warm-Up and these two routines.
The two videos below show a 1-hour live class taught by Kendall to the “Starter Playlist”. Watch how she interacts with the students, listen to how she cues and keeps energy levels up. We encourage that you ‘take’ this class as much as possible.
Starter Class (Facing Students) – This video should be used if you plan to teach students with a mirror, i.e. your back is too them. Your movements will be in the same direction of the verbal (right/left) queuing.
Starter Class (Facing Students) – This video should be used if you plan to teach students while facing them, i.e. your movements will be in the opposite direction of the verbal (right/left) queuing.
The tutorial videos are where we want you to learn the routines. We ask that you watch each tutorial and read the associated choreography notes. If you try to learn the routines from the class video alone your technique will not be as sharp and you will miss out on modifications and other pertinent information.
