Girrrrrrrrls – Day one is officially complete!!! My first day has been a challenge, but a good challenge. Before, I would focus on the things that I did wrong today. For example, I did not eat the best lunch and was not able to do the SHiNE Online Class full out. But today, I am going to focus on what I did RIGHT!
I drank more water than I have in a long time. Even thought my lunch was not what I had planned – I am proud of how I handled everything. I went with my boss to a restaurant for lunch and had a teriyaki burger and fries. This is what usually happens if I’m trying to lose weight and eat something like a burger and fries… I derail the rest of my day. My thought process would have been, “well, I already messed up my day now, might as well not try.” But friends, I didn’t do that. After lunch, I drank lots of water, and ended my day with a healthy dinner! Small victories!!
Now for my first online SHiNE class. I thought I was going to be super cool and hook my computer up to my TV. Well, that didn’t work because my internet kept cutting out. Usually I’d get annoyed and say forget it, but not this time. I pulled out my iPad, sat it on a shelf, and danced like nobody was watching (except my dog and I don’t think he was very impressed, haha).
WOW! It was fun, but boy was it challenging. I’ve had four knee surgeries (two on both knees). About 15 minutes into the workout my knees were wondering what the heck was going on because they hadn’t moved that much in years! But you know what, I finished strong and feel so accomplished. I can’t even imagine how different I am going to feel in the first few weeks of this challenge.
I LOVED the music. Current, feel good music that you can’t help but dance to. The choreography was so far above other dance fitness classes I have taken. I think I’m going to be hooked!
